Yerevan – On October 6, WCIT 2019 opened with a historic concert in Yerevan’s Republic Square. The night began with a set by an orchestra of 100 musicians from fifteen countries around the world led by Maestro Sergey Smbatyan, Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra. This orchestra performed the first ever AI-composed piece in real time with 3D mapping projected onto Republic Square. Following the orchestra, world-famous DJ and producer Armin van Buuren performed a set to close the night.
“We have come to our current success through long years of work that most of us have done individually, advancing through small and large steps, dreaming of an Armenia that has something to say to the entire world. In these years, we have learned to learn, to train ourselves over again, to create systems that open the youth to new perspectives, Armath, TUMO, COAF. Our greatest achievement became the innovative new generation, who shows that even in the farthest village, a program can be created that can compete with those of Silicon Valley. This is decentralization, moreover, the power of decentralization. That power brings us together today in Yerevan for the world’s largest IT event, WCIT” said UATE President and WCIT 2019 Organizing Committee Chair Alexander Yesayan during his welcoming remarks.
